The New York Jets have made it clear that they’re in the market for a quarterback this offseason. But while most believe that Aaron Rodgers is their top target, one analyst believes that Lamar Jackson is on their radar too.
Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, NFL insider Peter King said that he expects the Jets to inquire about Jackson’s availability if they fail to land Rodgers. Whether the Jets have a chance of getting him is a different matter entirely.
“I think the Jets are gonna have a very tough decision on their hands, and I think they will go after Rodgers if he does play, and if they don’t get him, I think they will at least put their sniffers out and seriously consider Lamer Jackson,” King said.
A good number of Jets fans seem to be on board with the idea. Many are saying that they would prefer to have Jackson over Rodgers for reasons ranging from his youth to Rodgers’ age to Jackson’s lower price tag:
The New York Jets fanbase is completely fractured over which quarterback they want. There are camps dedicated to Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, Lamar Jackson, Jimmy Garoppolo and even a handful of rookie quarterbacks.
But so long as the Jets get someone they should be in better shape than they ended the season in. Just about any veteran quarterback would be an upgrade over the QBs room the team has now.
Should the Jets go all-in on Lamar Jackson?
