NFL World Reacts To Wednesday’s Promising Lamar Jackson News

December 30, 2021 by The Spun

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson on Sunday against Baltimore.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, and the team has struggled in his absence. But Wednesday’s news was a lot more promising.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday that Jackson is returning to practice, albeit in a limited capacity. It will mark the first time since December 12 that Jackson will spend any time on the field.

Baltimore have lost back-to-back games in Jackson’s absence and are currently riding a four-game losing streak. They’ve seen their lead in the AFC North title race slip away and now they’re in second-place in the division.

Needless to say, Ravens fans are excited by the development. Most of them are hyped for Jackson’s seemingly imminent return.

Some fans are understandably concerned that he may be rushed back into action a little too early. Others have noticed that the team’s offense is staying efficient even with their second- and third-string quarterbacks under center.

The 2021 NFL season hasn’t been Lamar Jackson’s best. He’s thrown a career-high 13 interceptions and has his lowest QBR since his rookie year.

But it seems unlikely that the Ravens have much of a chance of going far in the playoffs without Jackson. At this point, they might not even make it to the playoffs if they don’t turn things around quickly.

Will we see Lamar Jackson take the field this Sunday?
