
Once one of the NFL’s premier wide receivers, Odell Beckham Jr. will look to rediscover some past glory in a comeback year.
The 30-year-old signed with the Baltimore Ravens after missing all of 2022 recovering from a torn ACL. During a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Beckham considered the new crop of wideouts perched atop the position’s hierarchy.
Eisen asked OBJ to pick his top-five receivers in the NFL. Beckham named Justin Jefferson and DaVante Adams before struggling to finish the assignment.
“It’s such a hard argument for me,” Beckham said. “Because my thing is, when you say top-five, I think [of] about eight to nine people who, any given Sunday, Monday, or Thursday could be No. 1 in the world.”
Beckham then rounded out his top tier with Cooper Kupp, Tyreek Hill, and Ja’Marr Chase.
The 30-year-old named Stefon Diggs before Eisen told him he already reached five. Beckham also predicted that his rookie teammate, Zay Flowers, could one way earn his way into the discussion.
Many athletes tend to unintentionally spark debate by naming a friend or personal favorite. Even if Beckham has some ties to those star wideouts, it’s hard to argue with any of his selections.
Jefferson, Hill, and Adams led the league in receiving last year. Chase, a fellow LSU alum, compiled 1,046 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games last season before finding the end zone twice more in the playoffs.
Before injuries derailed Kupp’s 2022 season, he recorded 145 catches for 1,945 yards and 16 touchdowns before a spectacular postseason that landed him and Beckham Super Bowl rings with the Los Angeles Rams.
