The 2024 Baltimore Ravens had a historic offense. They led the NFL in yards per pass and set an NFL record for yards per rush. Lamar Jackson and Patrick Ricard made First-Team All-Pro. Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers made the Pro Bowl. However, there’s always room for a Ravens offensive breakout star.
Here are three Ravens to keep an eye on in 2025.
Who will be the next Ravens offensive breakout?
Ravens Offensive Breakout: Keaton Mitchell, Running Back
Before going down with a season-ending ACL injury in 2023, Mitchell was establishing himself as one of the most dynamic players in football. His rookie season lasted only 47 carries. He turned it into 396 yards, 19 first downs, and two touchdowns.
Since 1950, the only player with more rushes and a higher yards per rush mark is Michael Vick in 2006 – an absurd 8.4 yards per rush. Mitchell’s explosiveness earned him a 92.5 PFF rushing grade and a robust 5.7 yards after contact per rush attempt.
Mitchell was on his way to another productive game – 73 rushing yards on nine carries – but he went down with an injury in Week 15, ending his 2023 campaign and abbreviating his 2024 season. Mitchell had 15 carries last season, gaining just 30 yards and a putrid 49.8 rushing grade.
However, more than a full year removed from his injury, Mitchell looks as explosive as ever. He has shone in camp thus far, and he gained 68 yards on nine carries in Baltimore’s opening preseason game.
Mitchell will be behind Henry and Justice Hill on the depth chart, but his explosiveness will be tough to overlook. A Henry-Mitchell combination will give defensive coordinators nightmares as a thunder-and-lightning duo.
Ravens Offensive Breakout: Devontez Walker, Wide Receiver
A fourth-round pick in 2024, Walker has one NFL catch entering this season. However, he did score a touchdown on said catch. Walker is slated in as Baltimore’s fourth receiver for now. Walker is unlikely to see the field much in two-receiver sets, but he could be a weapon in three-receiver sets.
The elephant in the room is DeAndre Hopkins, but Walker and Hopkins have different skill sets. Walker is Baltimore’s best bet as a true deep-threat wide receiver, while Hopkins is more of a possession-oriented receiver.
There is merit to both receivers, but Hopkins’ primary role at this point in his career could be as a third-down safety blanket and veteran receiver. On the other hand, Walker could ignite the deep passing game when Baltimore deems it necessary.
Ravens Offensive Breakout: Andrew Vorhees, Guard
A savvy seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Vorhees got on the field for six games in 2024. He started the first three games of the season before moving to a reserve role for the rest of the season. While his performance was underwhelming, the pedigree is enticing.
After moving to the left side of the offensive line in 2020, Vorhees allowed just three sacks in over 1,200 pass-blocking reps at USC. He was particularly dominant in 2021, earning a 90.1 PFF grade. Vorhees took a slight step back in 2022. However, he still maintained a grade in the 80s with a well-rounded profile.
He entered the draft cycle as a likely Day 2 pick, but he tore his ACL at the NFL Combine, enabling Baltimore to scoop him up in the seventh round. Vorhees got a de facto medical redshirt in 2023, and he now has a starting job in 2025.
Across 268 snaps last season, Vorhees earned a 57.2 overall grade, skewing toward his pass protection. While his 63.8 pass-blocking grade is average, his pass-blocking efficiency of 98.4% was a top-20 mark among offensive linemen with 250 snaps.
Vorhees was a below-average run blocker (56.1 grade), and he had an issue with collecting penalties (three). However, being sandwiched between Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum should help Vorhees’ development.
