Predicting the Ravens 53-Man Roster

August 30, 2022 by Maryland Sports Blog

The Ravens finished the preseason undefeated, making it now 23 straight preseason wins. But as final roster cuts take place tomorrow lets predict the Ravens 2022 53-man roster.

Quarterbacks

QB: Lamar Jackson

QB: Tyler Huntley

The Ravens once again will keep only two quarterbacks on the active roster to start the year. While Anthony Brown played well this preseason there is not enough space to keep three quarterbacks making Brown a practice squad candidate, as long as he doesn’t get picked up by another team.

Wide Receivers

WR: Rashod Bateman

WR: Devin Duvernay

WR: James Proche II

WR: Tylan Wallace

WR: Demarcus Robinson

The Ravens keep five receivers, similar to how many were on the roster in 2019. The Ravens are a run first team with very few multiple receiver sets and while Bateman will get plenty of targets, time will tell on how the others will be used throughout the year.

Running Backs

RB: J.K Dobbins

RB: Gus Edwards

RB: Justice Hill

RB: Tyler Badie

RB: Mike Davis

Mike Davis, Justice Hill, and Tyler Badie will lead the way in the beginning of the year as Dobbins and Edwards continues to get healthy. The Ravens value running backs and all five should make an impact at some point during the year.

Tight Ends

TE: Mark Andrews

TE: Nick Boyle

TE: Charlie Kolar

TE: Isaiah Likely

Isaiah Likely has been a standout this preseason and has made big play after big play in the passing game. Nick Boyle and Kolar, when healthy, provide blocking while Likely can stretch the field. Likely’s emergence will without a doubt open up Mark Andrews for another career year.

Offensive Line

G: Ben Cleveland

G: Kevin Zeitler

G: Ben Powers

G/C: Patrick Mekari

C: Tyler Linderbaum

T: Ja’Wuan James

G/T: Tyre Phillips

T: Ronnie Stanley

T: Daniel Faalele

T: Morgan Moses

The Ravens keep ten offensive lineman. For a team that is looking to run the ball there can never be too many lineman on the roster. With so many question marks, mostly regarding health, the Ravens can’t take any chances and will need to have depth at all five offensive line positions.

Secondary

S: Chuck Clark

S: Kyle Hamilton

S: Marcus Williams

S: Geno Stone

S: Brandon Stephens

CB: Marlon Humphrey

CB: Marcus Peters

CB: Jalyn Armour-Davis

CB: Kyle Fuller

CB: Damarion Williams

Not many surprises here, but likely the biggest name left off is that of safety Tony Jefferson. Jefferson will be cut Tuesday in a numbers move. After the Ravens place those who make the roster on IR several spots will open up allowing Jefferson to return to the team to continue to build off his strong preseason.

Linebackers

LB: Patrick Queen

LB: Malik Harrison

LB: Josh Bynes

LB: Josh Ross

OLB: Daelin Hayes

OLB: Odafe Oweh

OLB: Justin Houston

Probably one of the weakest positions on the roster, the Ravens keep seven linebackers. Undrafted rookie Josh Ross makes the squad after showing his ability to make plays at the linebacker position. Hayes makes the team though his status for week one is in question as practiced very little throughout camp. The Ravens will no question be in the market for another outside linebacker before the start of the season.

Defensive Line

DE: Calais Campbell

DE: Brent Urban

DT: Justin Madubuike

DT: Broderick Washington

DT: Travis Jones

DT: Michael Pierce

FB/DL: Patrick Ricard

The Ravens are one of the toughest teams to run against and in 2022 that should be no different. With Campbell returning and the additions of Brent Urban, Michael Pierce, and rookie Travis Jones this defensive line has the opportunity to make its presence felt all season.

Specialists

LS: Nick Moore

K: Justin Tucker

P: Jordan Stout

Even with the retirement of Sam Koch, the special teams for the Ravens hasn’t missed a beat. Rookie punter Jordan Stout has been terrific in the punt game downing punts inside the 20-yard line with ease this preseason. Stout has also shown his ability to kickoff, taking the load off of Justin Tucker.
