The Ravens starting nickel cornerback is expected to miss some time after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery
On Tuesday, Ravens cornerback Arthur Maulet missed his first training camp practice; in the post-practice press conference, Head Coach John Harbaugh gave a sour update, stating the injury was not “season ending,” indicating it meant something more than the usual minor soft tissue injury frequently stated when the head coach speaks injuries. According to multiple reports, Maulet will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery and miss a part of the regular season.
Ravens CB Arthur Maulet will have a scope on his knee later this week, per source. Expectation is he misses some regular season time — possibly September — but it’s not season ending.

Fortunately, the injury is not season-ending. In the past, players have returned to action in 4-8 weeks of arthroscopic knee surgery. Most notably, former Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins underwent a similar surgery in October 2022, forcing him to miss six games. But once he returned, he delivered back-to-back 120-yard games on 12.81 yards per carry in a Lamar Jackson-less offense.
Maulet, 31, has devoted himself all offseason to improving with self-imposed two-a-day workouts to become a fixture of the Ravens’ defense after signing a two-year, $4 million deal. The loss of Maulet, while not a death knell, significantly could impact the roster competition and how the defense fills the nickel role.
