The Baltimore Ravens suffered through a massive amount of injuries during the 2021 season. Many different players were impacted by ailments, and the injuries never seemed to stop coming, as guys were going down before, during, and at the end of the year.
After one of Baltimore’s mandatory minicamp practices, Baltimore cornerback Marlon Humphrey was asked about if he felt weighed down because it felt like he had to do more to make up for some of the injuries that the team suffered on defense. He said that wasn’t the case, and praised the Ravens’ fighting spirit to win throughout the last few games of the year.
“No. I think we were definitely fighting a lot last year. Even the games [where] it seemed like we won, we were really always on our heels it seemed like. But, I didn’t feel anything substantial. I think the injuries eventually did catch up to us. But, I think … even to the last game I felt – I wasn’t out there – but I felt like the guys were still fighting to win that game whether we made it into the playoffs or not. But to answer your question, I didn’t feel anything significant.”
Humphrey suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Baltimore’s Week 13 loss the Pittsburgh Steelers, resulting in him missing the rest of the season. He will look to bounce back in a big way during the 2022 season, as will the rest of his team. The cornerback will be one of the many injured stars that the Ravens will get back this year, which could mean big things for Baltimore.
