Many people around the league believe the New York Jets should bring Foley Fatukasi in a potential reunion to streamline the defensive trenches this offseason. According to a report, the Jets may pursue Fatukasi as they have one of the worst defensive lines in the league, struggling to find a capable lineman for relief. Originally selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former UConn product spent the 2024 campaign with the Houston Texans on a one-year deal, but began his career with the Jets. Now, one NFL analyst believes the team should “bring home Foley Fatukasi” before the 2025 regular season begins, but it’s hard to imagine he will have only this team that could intrigue interest in him.
Fatukasi isn’t the biggest name on the market as there are better options, but he could come at a controlled cost that any NFL roster could afford. However, he was one of the best run defenders in the league after posting an 87.6 PFF grade, which ranked him fifth best among defensive tackles. Since leaving the Jets, he hasn’t had much success in other defensive units, so it’s easy to see why many believe he should return to get back in the mix of things. The defensive tackle could be an excelling run stuffer for any championship team that may need one.
There are plenty of postseason rosters available that could use Fatusaki, and these two teams may pursue him.

Ravens, Chargers Could Disrupt Potential Jets Foley Fatukasi Reunion
Helping Madubuike
Last season, the Baltimore Ravens did not have the best defense, as they had more of an average experience since losing Jadeveon Clowney in the pass rushing unit. Nnamdi Madubuike kept this defensive trenches stabilized for the majority of the 2024 campaign, while Travis Jones and Broderick Washington couldn’t do much to hold their own weight. The team signing Yannick Ngakoue last year was proof that the Ravens need more big bodies on their roster to stop the opposing offenses, and Fatukasi could be one of those stuffers this upcoming season.
The outside linebackers, like Trenton Simpson, haven’t been able to do much to convince the team that they could do much to stop the offense. The Ravens are explosive on their own offense, but they won’t make it far if they can’t repair their defensive pass rush. Fatukasi might not do much, but he’s better than what the Ravens have, and he could be a solid piece alongside Madubuike.
More Assistance for Teair Tart
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers want to win football games in the trenches, but the way they’ve been adding defenders, it doesn’t seem to be the case. After losing Poona Ford and releasing Joey Bosa, the team failed to sign capable replacements to improve its defense. It’s bad already that they have question marks on their offense, and they will probably have to rely on the defense to win most of their matchups. Da’Shawn Hand can’t get easily revived as he’s more of a journeyman.
Fatukasi might not do much as well, but it’s a chance for the Chargers to revive a defensive lineman to help Teair Tart fill the gaps.
