Ravens Cut Player Days Before The AFC Championship Game

The Baltimore Ravens did some roster maneuvering Thursday, three days before the AFC Championship Game.

Baltimore waived outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon, who played in eight regular season games with one start and also saw time on defense and special teams in the Ravens’ 34-10 Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans last weekend.

ESPN’s Field Yates suggested waiving Moon could be a precursor to adding tight end Mark Andrews to the active roster for Sunday’s game.

Andrews broke his fibula and damaged ligaments in his ankle back on Nov. 16 and has not played since. However, he almost made a return for last week’s game and is “expected” to play Sunday as long as the rest of the week goes well.

“The target was always the AFC title game. It was just really on Baltimore to get there,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Wednesday. “They are now there. They are one of these final four teams. Mark Andrews is expected to play, to make his dramatic comeback, barring a setback.”

Baltimore will face the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday at 3 p.m ET on CBS for the right to go to Super Bowl LVIII.
