The Baltimore Ravens cut their roster down to the league mandated 80 on Tuesday. The Ravens cut 2020 undrafted rookie receiver Jaylon Moore on Monday. The remaining cuts came on Tuesday as the Ravens cut receiver Bailey Gaither, former Navy linebacker Diego Fagot, and offensive tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith.
The Ravens also waived receiver Slade Bolden who announced on Twitter he would need hernia surgery. However, it was later reported that Bolden would be place on injured reserve allowing him to remain on the roster but not count against the roster total.
In addition to the roster cuts the Ravens added veteran receiver Demarcus Robinson. Robinson entering his seventh season was recently released by the Las Vegas Raiders during their first round of camp cuts. Robinson has had success in the NFL since being drafted in the fourth round out of the University of Florida by the Kansas City Chiefs.
In six seasons Robinson has caught 145 passes for 1,679 yards and 14 touchdowns. Robinson had some of his best success coming against the Ravens catching 16 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns, in four games against the Ravens. 2020 was Robinson’s best year as he had a career high 45 catches, while also adding a career high 466 yards and three touchdowns.
Robinson has family ties to the Ravens as his uncle, Marcus Robinson played receiver for the Ravens during the 2003 season.
Other notable roster moves included Ravens running back Gus Edwards being added to the reserve/PUP list which will sideline the running back for at least four games as he continues to recover from a torn ACL.
The Ravens take on the Washington Commanders Saturday night for the their final preseason game before final roster cuts on Tuesday August 30th.
