The Baltimore Ravens went over 24 hours without making a move in 2022 free agency. However, all of a sudden they went from making no moves to reportedly making arguably the biggest move of the free agent period.

It was reported by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN Baltimore is expected to sign free agent safety Marcus Williams to a five-year, $70 million deal. Adam Schefter of ESPN then reported that the team will give Williams $37 million in guaranteed money and $31 million in the next year.

Williams is a 25-year-old free safety who can play in the deep half of the field and make quarterbacks pay for trying to stretch the field. He has 15 interceptions in his five-year NFL career, and gives the team their first true ballhawking presence in their defensive backfield since Earl Thomas III in 2019.
