The Baltimore Ravens have extended offensive coordinator Todd Monken, and will keep the 58-year old around Baltimore at least for another season. The details of the extension have yet to be released.
Monken had drawn some NFL head coaching interest over the last several weeks, most notably having interviews with the Chicago Bear and Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Ravens retaining Monken in Baltimore for the 2025 season is huge positive in the continued growth and evolution in quarterback Lamar Jackson and this entire Ravens offense. In 2024 the Ravens offense was first in total yards and first in total rushing yards, while also finishing seventh in total passing with Jackson throwing a career high 41 touchdowns. Monken helped unleash running back Derrick Henry for nearly 2,000 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, his most rushing touchdowns since he had 17 in 2020 with the Titans. While also having a 1,000 yard receiver in wide receiver Zay Flowers. Flowers also became the Ravens first wide receiver drafted by the team to make the Pro Bowl as a wide receiver.
In his two seasons in Baltimore Monken has helped lead the Ravens to two straight AFC north division titles, two straight AFC divisional round appearances, and one AFC championship round appearance. He has also assisted in Lamar Jackson likely win his second straight MVP award, and his third of his career.
With most of the core from this Ravens offense expected back in 2025, it will be fun to watch the continued progression of Todd Monken and this Ravens offense as they look to once again be the leagues best offense and hopefully make a much deeper run in the playoffs next season.
