Before the Cowboys acquired Trey Lance from the 49ers, the Ravens were mentioned as a potential trade suitor for the former No. 3 overall pick.
On Friday afternoon, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta addressed the rumors regarding his team’s interest in Lance. He cited bad reporting as the reason Baltimore was linked to the North Dakota State product.
“I would say that’s just bad reporting,” DeCosta said Friday, via Kyle Phoenix Barber. “If somebody calls you and asks if you’re interested in a player and you say ‘no’ does that mean you’re interested in that player?”
DeCosta then made it abundantly clear that he wasn’t looking to add another option quarterback this offseason.
“We’ve got good quarterbacks. We love our quarterbacks. We weren’t looking to add any quarterbacks at all this training camp. That’s what I would say on that.”

The Ravens currently have an MVP-caliber quarterback in Lamar Jackson and respectable backup in Tyler Huntley.
If Baltimore acquired Lance, it would’ve been similar to his situation in San Francisco where he was buried on the depth chart.
