The Baltimore Ravens currently have 10 picks in the 2022 NFL draft, nine of which fall in the top four rounds. They have the draft ammunition to maneuver up and down the board as needed, as Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta will certainly have other teams interested in his selections.
On Wednesday, DeCosta spoke to the media at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. He was asked about how he evaluates the top offensive linemen in this year’s draft class, and DeCosta praised some of the best options at the position, including revealing the fact that the team met with University of Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal.
“If you look at this draft class, you’re going to have, in my opinion, some really outstanding offensive linemen, for sure. You’ve got a guy like Evan Neal, who we met with last night. Extremely impressive – what he did at Alabama. [He’s] imposing, physical, strong, [a] run blocker. [He] has a chance to be an outstanding pro.
DeCosta also went into detail about Mississippi State University offensive tackle Charles Cross as well as University of Iowa center Tyler Liderbaum. In terms of Neal, the now-former Crimson Tide star is slated to go within the top five picks, and it would take a catastrophic slide to see him anywhere near the Ravens at No. 14. However, it goes to show that Baltimore is serious about upgrading their offensive line, and are leaving no stone unturned in the process.
