The Baltimore Ravens added to their secondary in a big way this offseason, signing Marcus Williams as well as drafting multiple playmakers such as Kyle Hamilton, Jalyn Armour-Davis and Damarion Williams. However, the team wasn’t done there, as they agreed to terms with veteran cornerback Kyle Fuller to add quality depth to their cornerback room.
Baltimore kicked off their first session of voluntary organized team activities last week, and multiple members of the organization spoke to the media. Head coach John Harbaugh was asked about what the addition of Fuller will do for the team’s secondary and how he’ll find snaps in such a deep positional group. Harbaugh went into detail about the player that Fuller is, complimenting his abilities while also discussing how he feels about the secondary.
“Yes, oh yes, they’ll be plenty of snaps for these guys – we found that out last year. He’s a veteran player. Kyle [Fuller] – he’s from Baltimore, as you probably know, and [he went to] Mount Saint Joseph High School. He’s a proven corner. He knows how to play the game, fits what we’re trying to do right now in the secondary really well. I think his veteran presence is going to add a lot to our defense. I think it finished off our secondary, in terms of … Never say never, but for now, I feel really good about that group back there – I mean, really good, about the secondary, personnel-wise.”
Fuller has been in the NFL since 2015, and at one point was considered one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL. While he struggled with the Denver Broncos during the 2021 season, he can play a role for the Ravens that will be extremely valuable, especially as high-quality depth.
