The Baltimore Ravens have been on a spectacular run during the 2021 season. The team entered Week 13 in first place of the AFC North and led the conference with a record of 8-3.
The Ravens traveled to Pittsburgh to face their AFC North rival in the Steelers. Down by seven points late in the fourth quarter, Baltimore managed to put together a spectacular drive. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson ended up connecting with wide receiver Sammy Watkins on a six-yard touchdown pass, which pulled the team to within one point. However, Baltimore opted to attempt a two-point conversion rather than kicking the extra point to possibly force overtime.

Following the loss, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave a simple explanation on why he chose to go for two.
“[We’re] trying to win the game right there. We were pretty much out of corners at that point in time. It was an opportunity to try to win the game right there.”

Not only did the play cost the Ravens the game, it knocked the team out of the No.1 seed in their conference. Baltimore will not have a lot of time to think about the decision, as the team will travel to Cleveland for another divisional matchup with the Browns in Week 14.
