Ravens HC John Harbaugh gives thoughts on RB JK Dobbins, OT Ronnie Stanley

July 29, 2022 by Ravens Wire

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to bounce back from an injury-filled 2021 season which saw them go 8-9 and miss the playoffs for the first time since 2017. They should be getting plenty of reinforcements by way of the injured players that they lost last season, but it’s a matter of when they return to the field.

After Baltimore’s first full-team training camp practice of 2022, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media and was asked a series of different questions, including about both running back JK Dobbins and offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley. He said that Dobbins is itching to get back on the field, but the decision as to when that will be will made by doctors and the running back himself.

“Yes, J.K. [Dobbins] definitely wants to go. He’s made it very clear, and he’s not just clear in the fact that he tells everybody all the time. I told him again today, ‘I know how you feel about that. You’ve told me.’ But that’s up to the doctors and him, and they’ll work it out. As soon as he’s back out there, we’ll be coaching him really hard. He’s doing an individual period with the trainers right now. So, I’m excited to get him back, hopefully, soon.”

When talking about Stanley, Harbaugh talked about his body composition and said that he looks to be really close to where he was in the past when he was playing his best football.

“Yes, he was walking around, looking good. Yes, I’d agree with you on that. But I will say, his body composition was very good; he’s really close to where he’s been in the past when he’s been at his best. So, I give him a lot of credit for the training that he’s done. We’ll just get the ankle there, and I’m looking forward to getting him back out there.”

Both Dobbins and Stanley play a key role in the success of the Baltimore offense, and each provides a spark when they’re out on the field. It’s unclear when either will return, but both are working hard to make sure they’re as ready as they can be to suit up again.
