The Baltimore Ravens have been stretched thin by many different injuries on both offense and defense. They’ve lost many key contributors for weeks, months or even the entirety of the 2021 season. However, they still have put together a 7-3 record and are the top team in the AFC North through 11 weeks.
One of the players who didn’t practice all week for Baltimore ahead of their Week 12 matchup with the Cleveland Browns is defensive lineman Calais Campbell, who is dealing with a concussion. While speaking to the media on Friday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh provided an update on Campbell and how his progress is going as he works through the concussion protocol.
“Yes, he’s been playing all year. So, he probably could use the rest anyway. He knows what we’re doing, and technique is not going to be a problem. It’s been encouraging with Calais [Campbell]. Of course, you have to go through the process, and you never can predict that exactly. But I think it’s been very encouraging that way.”
As Harbaugh notes, Campbell knows what the team is doing, and as a veteran he could most likely play even without any time on the practice field during the week. If Campbell is able to pass through the concussion protocol in time for “Sunday Night Football“, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him out on the field, as he’s a very important piece to the Baltimore defense.
