The Baltimore Ravens are coming off an imposing 27-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. It was a win that saw the defense get after Joe Burrow and the offense be very efficient. What’s more impressive was they did it while being banged up with players such as Tyler Linderbaum, Ronnie Stanley, and Marcus Williams all succumbing to the injury bug. Unfortunately, they didn’t escape Cincinnati unscathed, as Odafe Oweh and Odell Beckham Jr. left the game with ankle injuries. On Monday, head coach John Harbaugh gave some updates, including encouraging news for Williams.
Ravens Safety Marcus Williams Receives Positive Injury Update
No IR For Marcus Williams
Williams suffered a left pectoral injury during the season opener against the Houston Texans, and the concern was he would be out for most of the season. Harbaugh announced that Williams has decided against surgery and will rehab his way back onto the field. However, Harbaugh would not give a timetable for his return.

The Ravens signed Williams to a 5-year, $70 million contract with Baltimore in 2022. He missed seven games last year with a dislocated wrist. Still, this is good news for Baltimore, and their secondary is still missing Marlon Humphrey. Getting Williams back sooner than later would be a big boost. For now, Geno Stone will cover the free safety position, and he arguably played the game on Sunday with a 3rd quarter interception off Burrow in the endzone.
Beckham, Oweh Suffer Ankle Injuries
While the offense had a stellar performance in Cincinnati, they did it mainly without Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham would leave the game with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Harbaugh confirmed that Odafe Oweh, who left the stadium on Sunday with a walking boot, is dealing with an ankle sprain.
Harbaugh wouldn’t provide any injury updates on Odafe Oweh and Odell Beckham. “If there’s any long-term issue, we’ll let you know. We’re not there yet.”

Significance Of Beckham And Oweh’s Injuries
Throughout Beckham’s career of big plays and stellar catches, he has dealt with injuries in the latter part of his career. It was a risk the Ravens knew they were taking with him, especially when he missed all last season. Nelson Agholor and Devin Duvernay must step up if Beckham is out this week. Agholor is fresh off a performance in Cincinnati that saw him catch five receptions for 63 yards and one big touchdown catch. Jadeveon Clowney is also coming off a big game on Sunday, and David Ojabo will now be asked to do more in Oweh’s absence.
