The Ravens have selected edge rusher Mike Green out of Marshall to help fortify their pass rush.

With the 59th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Marshall edge rusher Mike Green.

The Ravens have finally ended the lengthy slide by Green who was widely considered a consensus first-round prospect this year after leading the nation in sacks as a senior for the Thundering Herd.

Here’s what the Ravens are getting in Green:

Stats & Accolades

  • 2021 (Virginia): Played in six games (Four tackles, sack).
  • 2022 (Virginia): Redshirted.
  • 2023 (Marshall): Played in 13 games with one start (43 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, forced fumble).
  • 2024 (Marshall): Started 13 games (84 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles). Second-Team Associated Press All-American. Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year. First-Team All-Sun Belt. Finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award (nation’s top DE).

What the Ravens are getting:

Green is a very productive player who dominated at a Group of 5 program to lead the nation with 17 sacks. Following the season, he stood out in the first two practices of the Reese’s Senior Bowl before choosing to drop from the event to get started on further prep leading up to the NFL Draft. He possesses eye-popping flexibility to duck under and bend around offensive tackles to get his hands on quarterbacks. He wins with a nonstop motor and a bat-out-of-hell mentality that sometimes can come back to bite him. If a team can get him to harness his chaos even further, it won’t take long for him to make a name for himself in the NFL.

Strengths

  • Uber-productive, leading the nation with 17 sacks in 2024
  • Elite bend that makes him a pain for taller tackles to keep hands on
  • Will never be questioned for a lack of effort
  • Screams off the edge and flattens fast to stop inside runs at the line of scrimmage
  • Very active hands to stay clean and ready for a counter move

Weaknesses

  • Level of competition
  • Murky off-the-field background involving multiple sexual assault allegations
  • Can give so much effort that he tires himself out and/or takes himself out of plays
  • Lacks ideal length for an elite rusher

Athletic Testing/Measurements

  • Height: 6’3
  • Weight: 251 pounds
  • 40-yard dash: N/A
  • 10-yard split: N/A
  • Vertical jump: N/A
  • Broad jump: N/A
  • 3-cone drill: 6.85 seconds
  • Short shuttle: 4.25 seconds
  • Bench Press: 28 reps
