Ravens practice updates: Kyle Hamilton took the field as Ravens had a rare late season perfect attendance

The second-year breakout star was limited participant but continues to trend in the right direction.

On Wednesday, Baltimore Ravens were back on the practice field coming off a Week 14 overtime thriller over the Los Angeles Rams to begin their preparation for their upcoming primetime matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football in Week 15. During a time of year when almost every team has several players who are banged up and missing practice, the Ravens had perfect attendance when they took the practice field for the first time this week.

“That’s a plus for us. We’re happy about that,” Harbaugh said. “You guys have been around here the past few years, so that’s a major plus for us. But we have to go out there with all our 53 [-man roster] and everybody else and play our best game on Sunday to have a chance to win this game.”

The biggest and most encouraging takeaway from this positive development is that second-year safety Kyle Hamilton was among them after suffering a reported Grade 1 MCL sprain in this past Sunday’s win that caused him to leave the game twice before being declared out.

The 2022 first-round pick was listed as a limited participant and only took part in individual drills during the portion of practice that was open to the media. However, the fact that he is on the practice field moving around with his helmet on and not just looking on from the sideline or stuck in the training room receiving treatment is a great sign.

On Monday, Head Coach John Harbaugh declined to share the specifics of Hamilton’s injury diagnosis but told reporters that he wouldn’t rule Hamilton out for this upcoming Sunday’s AFC clash between division leaders either.

“I thought he moved pretty good. I was pretty happy to see it,” Harbaugh said. “He wasn’t a full participant. He was out there for most of the practice [and] did as much as he could. We’ll see how he progresses as the week goes on.”

Other players that were listed on the injury report but still participated in practice on a limited basis included three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham (veteran rest) and All-Pro inside linebacker Roquan Smith, while rookie outside linebacker Malik Hamm (ankle) and fourth-year linebacker Malik Harrison (groin) were full participants.
