The Lamar Jackson saga in Baltimore shows no signs of going away anytime soon.
The former NFL MVP posted in a Twitter thread Monday that he had requested a trade from the Ravens at the beginning of this month.
“As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value,” Jackson wrote.
Despite Jackson’s confirmed frustrations with the organization, Baltimore still placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on the quarterback, and the team’s decision makers have insisted they want to keep the 2018 first-round pick around.
At the NFL League Meetings tonight, Ravens president Sashi Brown reiterated that the franchise “loves” Jackson and is “committed to getting something done.”

The Ravens continue to say all the right things, but their actions will ultimately speak loudest.
They still hold some leverage in the sense that no team has jumped on Jackson (yet) and any team that signs the 26-year-old signal caller will have to surrender two first-round picks should Baltimore choose not to match the offer sheet.
However, if Jackson is dead set on sitting out the 2023 season rather than playing on the franchise tag, the Ravens could still wind up being on the short end of things.
