Ravens Projected to Cut $97 Million Pro Bowler

February 1, 2026 by Last Word On Pro Football

Marlon Humphrey has been one of the most reliable members of the Baltimore Ravens for the vast majority of his tenure with the team, but the new coaching staff could cut him before he plays a single down under the new leadership.

A Raven since 2017, Humphrey made four Pro Bowls during his first eight seasons with the team and played like one of the league’s best cornerbacks. However, he struggled in 2025, finishing the season with an abysmal 49.9 PFF grade, the 103rd-best mark out of 112 eligible players.

Now entering his age-30 season and set to carry a $19.3 million cap hit, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox believes the Ravens might cut Marlon Humphrey with a post-June 1st designation to split his dead money over two seasons.

“A post-June 1 cut would offer a huge cap savings,” Knox writes. “The $19.3 million they would carve out in cap space could fund the traditional late offseason signing the Ravens typically pull off with plenty of space to make it through the season.”

Ravens Could Cut Marlon Humphrey

Ultimately, the decision to cut Marlon Humphrey comes down to what new head coach Jesse Minter thinks about the cornerback. Humphrey was playing good football as recently as 2024, so if Minter believes he can return to form, they’ll probably keep him around.

Additionally, the Ravens don’t need to worry too much about cap space. The projected salary cap for next year is roughly $303 million, which means the Ravens should have roughly $22.7 million in available spending money. This puts them in the middle of the pack in terms of available cap space, which likely means they won’t need to cut players out of necessity.

However, if Minter believes Humphrey’s best days are behind him, they could very well cut him. Baltimore has a talented roster, but there’s always room for improvement. If the Ravens think they can cut Marlon Humphrey and use that money to sign a better player, they’ll do it without thinking twice.
