The Baltimore Ravens play in the AFC North, which is arguably one of the best divisions in the NFL. Every year they compete with the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers for the division crown, something that is very hard to obtain considering the talent on each team.
In 2020, Baltimore matched up with Cleveland twice and won both games. They dismantled the Browns in Week 1 by the final score of 38-6 before beating Cleveland again 47-42 in Week 14. When Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was asked about what he remembers most from playing Cleveland in 2020, he talked about a few things that stood out.
“The cramps. (laughter) My whole body cramped. Scoring back and forth – both teams. It was just a competitive game. It was, like you said, one to remember. That’s what I remember the most – just going back and forth, just scoring touchdowns. They [were] scoring, we [were] scoring – a lot of ping pong.”
The cramps that Jackson are referring to happened in the fourth quarter of Week 14, when he had to go back to the locker room for a few series during the game, but returned on a fourth down to throw a touchdown to wideout Marquise Brown and ultimately secure the victory.
In that game, the offenses were scoring non-stop, as there were 89 combined points.
Divisional games always have something extra to them, so Baltimore’s Week 12 matchup against the Browns could shape up to be a good one, much like Week 14 of 2020 was.
