Report: The Baltimore Ravens re-sign All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard to a one-year fully guaranteed deal.
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Baltimore Ravens have re-signed All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard to a one-year, fully guaranteed deal.
Ricard, who turns 31 in May, has been a long-time Raven, originally signed as an undrafted rookie by the team in 2017.
Originally, “Project Pat” joined as a defensive lineman, but his “do-anything-for-the-team” attitude emerged as he ramped into a fullback from the beginning.
In the first three years of his career (2017-2019), Ricard played 587 offensive snaps, 225 defensive snaps and 241 special teams snaps. A true do-it-all player who proved willing to play wherever necessary for the team.
After earning his first Pro Bowl in 2019 as a fullback, Ricard saw his final snap as a defensive player; he then rattled off four Pro Bowls in five years and earned First Team All-Pro as a fullback in 2024, leading the way for the NFL’s best rushing offense.
Re-signing with the Ravens is a big addition for the Ravens. Continuing to pave the way for Derrick Henry and protecting Lamar Jackson is integral to the Ravens sustaining one of the NFL’s best offenses. It also greatly benefits the team as they go through another search for their starting left guard. Having a veteran blocker who knows the scheme and can give guidance for how their offensive plan operates is a boon for whoever takes the left guard mantle.
Contract details have yet to emerge, but prior to Ricard’s signing, Russell Street Report’s Brian McFarland estimates the Ravens at $5.58 million under the cap, with Ar’Darius Washington’s RFA status pending.
