The return of Tyler “Snoop” Huntley.
The Ravens announced on Tuesday they filled their final practice squad spot with a familiar face. Quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley rejoins the Ravens after being released by the Cleveland Browns.
Huntley joins sixth-round rookie quarterback Devin Leary on the practice squad after the Browns were unsuccessful in trading him elsewhere. Originally, the Browns had four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster.
General Manager Eric DeCosta said on Thursday they were happy with their current crop of quarterbacks, but won’t shy from adding one if they deem necessary.
“With Josh [Johnson], we have a really experienced guy. He’s like having another coach, and he’s great with Lamar, the players love him, he’s highly respected, [and] he’s a talented player, so we love Josh. And with Devin [Leary], we have a young player, and he had his moments,” DeCosta said. “We like the room, but it doesn’t mean that we won’t add another guy, which we could do at some point. It’s like any position on the team; we’ll continue to evaluate and look at players that become available and make decisions based off of that.”
In his NFL career, Huntley’s spent all four with the Ravens outside this offseason with the Browns. He’s started in nine games and played 20, and led two game-winning drives (vs. Bears, 2021; vs. Broncos, 2022). Huntley also one playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022, where a costly fumble on the goal line turned into a the deciding defensive score.
