After leading the top defense in the NFL this season, Mike Macdonald accepted a head coaching job with the Seattle Seahawks. The Baltimore Ravens wasted no time replacing him with former All-Pro linebacker Zach Orr.

While at Super Bowl LVIII Radio Row this week, Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton spoke to us about a plethora of topics. It was part of his promotion for Bounty’s House of Wingman experience.

During our discussion with Hamilton, we asked him about the Ravens losing Macdonald this offseason. Although he’s sad to see Macdonald go, he’s confident in Orr’s abilities as a play-caller.

“First off, congrats to Coach Mike. He deserves it. He put in all the hours and deserves all the awards. He’s going to do well in Seattle,” Hamilton told The Spun. “As for Zach Orr, we call him ‘ZO,’ he’s a big energy guy. He’s a brother to us. He’s been there for us no matter what. I’m happy he’s getting this job at such a young age. I think he’s going to do a great job.”

Ravens outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy also spoke to The Spun about the team’s coaching changes.

“I think he’s an amazing human,” Van Noy said when asked about Orr. “I don’t think change is the right word because he’s been here in the past. I think he’s going to bring that football experience to the table. He’s a very good teacher, and I’m excited for him to bring that energy each and every day. He’ll teach people what it means to be a Raven and play Ravens football.”

Prior to becoming Baltimore’s defensive coordinator, Orr served as the team’s linebackers coach for two seasons.

Orr has huge shoes to fill in Baltimore this offseason, make no mistake about it. That being said, he should be more than ready for the challenge.
