The Baltimore Ravens saw some change happen to their wide receiver room over the course of the 2022 offseason, trading Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals while also seeing Sammy Watkins and Miles Boykin depart. The team hasn’t added a veteran option up to this point, but still have a few new faces at the position despite not selecting a wideout in the 2022 NFL draft.
When talking to the media following one of Baltimore’s mandatory minicamp practices, tight end Mark Andrews discussed some of the new faces at the wide receiver position. He said that the group has many hungry faces in it, but also said that they’re a close, tight-knit group that know what’s at stake.
“A bunch of hungry guys. They’re a very close, tight-knit group, and I think you guys see it on social media, and all that stuff. They really live it. James Proche [II] got a basketball hoop in the locker room, and they’re literally playing all the time. It’s a close group. They’re a hungry group. They know what’s at stake, and they’re ready to go man. It’s going to be an exciting team.”
While Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay, James Proche II and Tylan Wallace have been with the team for at least one year each, some of the undrafted players such as Shemar Bridges, Makai Polk and Devon Williams have the potential to make the roster due to their size and skill. The team will be relying on plenty of young pass catchers in 2022, and they have confidence that they can contribute in a big way.
