Ravens TE Nick Boyle describes how it felt to be on the field for first time in 2021

November 23, 2021 by Ravens Wire

The Baltimore Ravens have dealt with a massive amount of injuries over the course of the 2021 season. However, despite losing many key pieces, they have weathered the storm and put together an impressive 7-3 record, which currently is the best mark in the AFC North.

Baltimore got one of their injured players back in Week 11 in tight end Nick Boyle. The veteran had missed over a full calendar year after suffering a gruesome knee injury in the middle of the 2020 season, and when asked about how it felt to be back on the field, he said it felt good to be involved in the atmosphere of everything.

“It felt really, really good. The whole game atmosphere, the whole gameday, to be back walking in the locker room, from preparation to warmups to everything [else], it felt really good. Being out there on the field felt really good. Winning felt really good, but I still feel like there are some plays and things that I need to clean up that still kind of irks me, and I want to get better at, because I know we have really high expectations. But overall, to go out there, like I said, it just felt really, really good.”

Boyle was unable to haul in his only target on Sunday, having it glance off of his hands. However, it was good to see No. 86 back on the field with the Ravens’ offense, as he’s a big part of what they do in the running game and has also grown into a capable pass catcher.

As the season goes on and Boyle gets more game reps under his belt, he should continue getting back into the swing of things. The tight end showed though his comments that he’s hungry to improve, a mentality shared by his teammates.
