The Baltimore Ravens have been moving around their roster for the entirety of the 2021 season. They’ve dealt with injury after injury, which has forced them to find contributions from unlikely places and get creative with how their team looks.
Baltimore has been bringing plenty of new faces through their doors for workouts and tryouts, especially as they get thin at certain positions. On Friday, the team tried out four running backs in Taquan Mizzell, Chris Thompson, T.J. Yeldon and Benny LeMay. They also placed wide receiver Jaylon Moore on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Mizzell signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2016 but never made it out of training camp. He has since spent time with the Chicago Bears, the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants, appearing in 12 career games.
Yeldon was a second round selection of the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2015, and has shown ability as both a runner and a pass catcher. After leaving Jacksonville, he spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
Thompson spent the first seven years of his NFL career in Washington before playing in Jacksonville during the 2020 season. He’s put up more receiving yards in his career (1,914) than rushing yards (1,214).
LeMay was a star at the University of Charlotte, and spent time with the Indianapolis Colts during training camp and the preseason in 2021.
Baltimore could have been trying out running backs due to Nate McCrary’s placement on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, incase there was a spread throughout their running back room. However, they could have also been looking for potential depth at the position for general purposes.
