Ravens vs. Dolphins final: MVP, 12 Winners & 2 Losers

THE RAVENS WIN THE AFC!

The Baltimore Ravens handled their business against the Miami Dolphins and officially secured the No. 1 seed. With it, they secured the coveted bye week, and get to do so while considering resting some key starters against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.

MVP — QB Lamar Jackson

It’s sealed. It’s done. It’s bloody over with. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is now a two-time League MVP after obliterating the best scoring defense since Week 8 by tossing five touchdown passes and going over 320 yards.

He is the best football player on the planet right now and he will come under the scrutiny of the masses, for the playoffs have arrived. It’s time to saddle up for the “real real season.”

Winners

Head Coach John Harbaugh — I will accept written apologies for those who had the fevered reaction to can Harbaugh after a couple missteps.

Look at the rest of the NFL. Look at the losses happening. The Chiefs. The Eagles. The piss-poor performances across the league. And through it all, the Ravens fixed their issues and now Harbaugh’s team is home for a post-season run. Give the man the credit.

Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken — Ravens drives:

  1. Touchdown
  2. Punt
  3. Touchdown
  4. Touchdown
  5. Touchdown
  6. End of Half
  7. Touchdown
  8. Fumble
  9. Punt
  10. Touchdown
  11. Touchdown
  12. Touchdown (backups)

The best scoring defense in the NFL since Week 8 and they just got sewered by the best team in football. The bludgeonings will continue until morale improves.

Defensive Coordinator Mike Macdonald — The defense handled its business and never let Tua Tagovailoa get cooking after his hot start in the first quarter. The past two games, against the NFC’s best and the best non-Ravens team in the NFL, they allowed only 38 points combined.

RB Justice Hill — This was the Justice Hill Game. He rushed for 48 yards on only three attempts, added another 64 yards receiving by catching all five of his targets, and scoring a touchdown. He added a 78-yard kickoff return to open the second half, too. What a dominant performance by Hill, who was the best Hill on the field today.

TE Isaiah Likely — Going for it on 4th & 7 was bold. But to put an emphatic exclamation point on the play was a one-handed grab by Likely that went for a touchdown. Then, he walked in the second-half touchdown all alone for his second of the game, and his fourth of the season, setting a new career best.

ISAIAH LIKELY. Incredible catch and run for the @Ravens TD!

WR Zay Flowers — The rookie now holds the Ravens rookie franchise record for receiving yards, surpassing Torrey Smith’s 842 yards. He did so on this maniacal 75-yard touchdown reception.

ILB Roquan Smith — While Beckham’s catch of the day will go as the best on the afternoon in terms of style points, Smith’s pick was a far more challenging play as he snatched the ball heading towards Wilson. He also was credited with a pass deflection on the Geno Stone interception.

S Geno Stone — Nothing like the Ravens’ No. 3 safety having seven interception in one season. Sheer ball magnet and he’s got the mitts.

WR Rashod Bateman — New season highs in receptions (4) and yards (54). He needs to get going and maybe this is a stepping stone. They’ll need him to make plays.

Scorigami!! — We did it! We got a scorigami!

FB Pat Ricard — This was a big-time fullback matchup between Alec Ingold and Ricard, who are the top two vote getters for the AFC Pro Bowl fullback position. Hopefully the one-handed over-the-shoulder swag catch by Ricard can get him over the top.

Patrick Queen — An absolute warrior who battled through injury. He looked held together by duct tape at the end of the game and was still playing his violent brand of football.

Losers

Injuries — Ravens are dealing with a load of injuries. Thankfully, they’ll be getting some much-needed rest over the next two weeks.

The AFC — Nobody will want to take on this team. They are a wrecking machine.
