The Ravens sign their second defensive tackle of the season
On Saturday, ESPN’s Field Yates reported the Baltimore Ravens have come to an agreement on a two-year deal with defensive tackle Michael Pierce.
The Ravens and starting DT Michael Pierce have agreed to a 2-year, $7.5M contract extension through the 2025 season, per source.
The 31-year old has 37 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries this season.

Pierce, 31, has graded out rather well this season according to PFF, earning a 76.8 overall defense, ranking him No. 22 in the NFL. His run defense grade is No. 11 in the NFL, at 73.9, while his pass rush grade has him sitting at No. 40, above Javon Kinlaw, Grady Jarrett and Zach Sieler.
Something Pierce has struggled to do the past few seasons is remain healthy. However, he’s done so this season, playing 605 snaps. Only twice has he played fewer than 50% of a games’ snaps this season.
Prior to the new deal, Pierce had a renegotiated deal with the Ravens that reduced his compensation from $4 million to $2 million. They added that he could become a free agent in 2024, and strapped on void years that would split his $835,000 over four years. The full details of his new extension have not been released, which makes this deal rather intriguing for cap navigation.
