Former tight end Rob Gronkowski had another hot take this week and this time it’s one that could get a lot of Cincinnati Bengals fans mad and a lot of Baltimore Ravens fans overjoyed.
Appearing on Up & Adams, Gronkowski was asked to weigh in on the debate between Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Gronkowski made the case that Jackson is currently better because he has improved so much this year as a thrower.
The former All-Pro also pointed out that Jackson is currently leading the league in completion percentage while being the league’s top rushing quarterback – a feat the league hasn’t seen since Hall of Famer Steve Young did that with the 49ers in 1994. The 49ers went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
“Lamar Jackson is currently the better quarterback. He is throwing the ball better than he ever has, and while he is sitting in the pocket, he’s leading the NFL with a 71.5 completion percentage rate. Think about that. That’s when he’s in the pocket. When he’s not in the pocket he’s running the ball for another 20 yards. The only quarterback that ever led the NFL in rushing (among QBs) and completion percentage was Steve Young in 1994. So I think, Lamar Jackson, if he keeps this pace up right now he can be the second quarterback ever to do it,” Gronk said.

It’s a compelling case to say that Jackson is not only better than Burrow, but potentially the best quarterback in the NFL.
Is Jackson better than Burrow?
Is Jackson the frontrunner to win the MVP right now?
