Shocking: $110 Million Superstar Likely On Trade Block

May 5, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

$110 million Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore could be on the trade block this upcoming 2025 regular season. After drafting wideout Luther Burden in this year’s draft, one source believes the Bears might be open to moving on from the superstar. Things are coming together in Chicago since salvaging their offensive line and getting talent from this draft. It looks like the Bears will have a turnaround this season, especially for young quarterback Caleb Williams.

However, several reports believe Moore might not be a part of their long-term plans, despite signing a four-year blockbuster extension to stay with the Bears. Originally selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former Maryland product did not reach 1,000 yards last season after notching 1,300 receiving yards in 2023 when he was acquired in a trade from the Carolina Panthers. It’s not to imagine he has some type of future being that the Bears spent their first early picks, especially on tight end Colston Loveland, who has enormous abilities to be one of the main pass catchers for Williams. This doesn’t mean the Bears will trade him anytime soon, but it shouldn’t be surprising if the team considers it, especially if Burden outperforms Moore.

Chicago might be ready for Rome Odunze to take over as the No. 1 pass catcher in this unit after spending money in free agency, signing Devin Duvernay, Olamide Zaccheaus and Miles Boykin. All of the new faces on the roster could reduce the role of Moore, who is already underperforming, and it might get worse for him, so these three teams could trade for him during the 2025 campaign.

Shocking: $110 Million Superstar DJ Moore Likely On Trade Block – 3 Logical Fits

Possible Next Fits

Kansas City Chiefs

It’s a tricky situation for the Kansas City Chiefs this upcoming season. Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice are two talented playmakers, but they’re hoping that they focus on football during the offseason. Worthy is in good spirits, but Rice could miss some time due to a potential suspension, depending on what the league does. However, the team needs another weapon on the depth chart that can be a consistent wide receiver similar to what Justin Watson was for the roster before losing him this free agency.

Meanwhile, DJ Moore could fit into the style that the Chiefs are looking for. They should know that Marquise Brown isn’t the long-term relief after missing the majority of the 2024 campaign, but they panicked and re-signed him to a new deal after the Worthy incident. Despite that, Moore could be their No. 3 speedster to fill the need behind Rice and Worthy as a capable veteran to guide them.

Los Angeles Chargers

This would be the perfect situation for Moore since the Los Angeles Chargers have a bright young offense. However, despite drafting Tre Harris, the team still has one of the worst pass-catching units in the league. Many should expect Quentin Johnston to lose his job this upcoming season after back-to-back years of inconsistency. 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey is still the only reliable one who is becoming quarterback Justin Herbert’s favorite weapon.

Moore won’t carry this offense, but it gives Herbert a legitimate weapon in the aerial attack to target in the deep route when Mike Williams can’t.

Baltimore Ravens

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens have been having a hard time finding help for Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Just because they signed DeAndre Hopkins, it doesn’t mean he’s the long-term fix. Moore is easily the better wide receiver in this situation that can last more than 5-6 years and still has a lot of upside as a capable replacement when Hopkins retires.
