A report last week stated the Baltimore Ravens were reportedly in agreement with the Tennessee Titans during the 2023 NFL trade deadline for RB Derrick Henry. But Titans GM Ran Carthon denied the report on July 23.
During the 2023 NFL trade deadline, rumors swirled that the Baltimore Ravens were in elevated talks to acquire Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry. But once the deadline passed, Henry remained a Titan. More rumors spread on social media that a deal was “in place” for Henry but Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk vetoed the trade.
Last week, The Athletic’s Dan Pompei published an article which the trade was agreed to.
“DeCosta agreed to the framework of a trade with Tennessee general manager Ran Carthon — a fourth-round pick that could have become a third had Henry reached certain production levels,” Pompei wrote. “However, others in the Titans hierarchy apparently were not on board with the deal, so Henry played out the season in Nashville.
Carthon was asked about the reported trade for Derrick Henry on July 23, and denied the report.

“I don’t know where that came from. That’s not my concern,” Carthon said. “But we had multiple teams call about Derrick and offer something that wasn’t worth taking—worth even considering, and I communicated that with Derrick during that time. But no, we never agreed with anybody to do anything to move anybody.”
Regardless of what occurred in 2023, Henry signed with the Ravens on March 12, and the NFL World has seen this addition as arguably the best move made this offseason.
Derrick Henry to Ravens, who continue to collect the biggest bad asses around. He might be the most Raven-like RB ever. Still strong between tackles, still can break a long run. With Lamar and their read-option, he’ll have space to gain speed and maximize his power. Look out
