Prince George’s County-raised actor Tramell Tillman, who portrayed Seth Milchick in the Apple TV+ series “Severance,” is an Emmy winner.
Tillman, 40, is the first Black recipient of the Emmy for best supporting actor in a drama series. He had been nominated for his menacing depiction as a meticulous supervisor most often referred to as “Mr. Milchick” or “Milkshake” in the sci-fi series.
The Eleanor Roosevelt High School graduate dedicated the award to his “first acting coach” — his mother.
“Mama, you were there for me when no one else was and no one else would show up,” he said Sunday evening at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.
“Your loving kindness stays with me,” he said. “I am full. I am humbled. I am honored. And as my mama would say, ‘look at God.’”
The Largo native won over “Severance” colleagues Zach Cherry, who portrayed Dylan George in the series, and John Turturro, who played Irving Bailiff. Also nominated in the supporting actor category: Walton Goggins, Sam Rockwell and Jason Isaacs of HBO’s “The White Lotus,” as well as James Marsden for his flashbacks-only role as President Cal Bradford in Hulu’s “Paradise.”
The 2025 awards show served as a breakout year for Apple TV+ as two of the streaming platform’s shows, “Severance,” and the Seth Rogen comedy series “The Studio,” were the most-nominated.
“Severance,” a dystopian office drama about people who surgically split their psyches into workplace “innies” and home “outies,” was the top overall nominee with 27 nominations for its second season.
