MSNBC has cancelled Joy Reid’s show, “The Reid Out,” as the network undergoes some major changes — much to the delight of President Donald Trump.
Trump took to social media to express his thoughts about the shakeup.
“Lowlife Chairman of ‘Concast,’ Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenged NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid,” Trump wrote on Truth Social late Sunday night. “Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been ‘canned’ long ago, along with everyone else who works there.”
Reid’s liberal-minded show, according to Deadline, will be replaced with a show featuring Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez. The media outlet said the show “would run for two hours on Mondays and for one hour from Tuesday to Friday.”
Townsend previously served as a spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris, while Steele is a former Maryland lieutenant governor and Republican National Committee chair and Menendez is a journalist and daughter of former New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in a political corruption case.
The trio currently host “The Weekend” airing every Saturday and Sunday morning.
Reid, who has anchored “The ReidOut” since 2020, will host the last show this week, according to FOX News.
The news comes after Rebecca Kutler, who served as interim president at MSNBC, was recently named as MSNBC’s new permanent president.
Trump, meanwhile, described MSNBC as “a threat to our democracy” because of an abundance of “lying and misrepresentation, as well as “bad people at the top.” He went on to air his grievances with the network, including his disgust with Alex Wagner and Rachel Maddow — and more.
“Also thrown out was Alex Wagner, the sub on the seriously failing Rachel Maddow show,” Trump wrote. “Rachel rarely shows up because she knows there’s nobody watching, and she also knows that she’s got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid. Then there’s, of course, the LOW IQ Con Man, Al Sharpton, who has, perhaps, the lowest TV ratings in the history of television. What is he doing to Brian Roberts to stay on the air?
“This whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party. They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our Country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!”
