“We’ll See” – Ravens John Harbaugh Gives Discouraging Update on Injured Star

January 15, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Zay Flowers Injury

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers suffered a knee injury in the regular season finale which sidelined him for the team’s dominant Wild Card victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. At the time, reports deemed Flowers week-to-week with an outside chance to suit up in the playoff match against their longtime rivals. While that didn’t happen, the team hopes the Pro Bowl wide receiver can play in Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Nothing is official as of yet, but head coach John Harbaugh’s latest interview does not sound encouraging. Speaking to reporters earlier in the week, the one-time Super Bowl champion head coach didn’t rule out Zay Flowers but made it clear that he is not fully recovered from his injury.

“That’s in we’ll see mode. He’s working hard to get back and we’ll see towards the end of the week if he’s practicing. He could play without practicng, for sure, if he feels healthy enough and it’s safe for him.”

John Harbaugh Gives Discouraging Zay Flowers Injury Update

Perhaps Flowers can suit up on game day, but the fact John Harbaugh can’t even confirm he’ll practice this week is discouraging. While the Ravens didn’t need the Pro Bowler to beat the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers, he could be the difference in Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson were the two best quarterbacks in football this year and the two deserving frontrunners for the MVP award. While Baltimore has the better all-around team, Allen has the raw ability to singlehandedly win games, and Buffalo’s roster is strong enough in its own right.

The Ravens will need all the help they can get to make their second AFC Championship Game in as many seasons, and Flowers is a major part of the passing attack. Appearing in all 17 regular season games, the former first-round pick finished the season with 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns while becoming the first Ravens receiver to make the Pro Bowl in franchise history.
