What is the Ravens’ biggest remaining weakness after the draft?

May 6, 2025 by Baltimore Beatdown

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Los Angeles Chargers
Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports

The Ravens could still use help in the trenches.

The Baltimore Ravens boast one of the best rosters in the NFL on paper, especially after reinforcing it with 11 selections in the 2025 NFL Draft. It is hard to poke holes in such a complete roster, but no team is perfect, and general manager Eric DeCosta knows this and will continue to work toward crafting the best roster possible for the 2025 season.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

What is the Ravens’ biggest remaining weakness after the draft?

My answer: Nose tackle

The Ravens’ loss of veteran defensive tackle Michael Pierce to retirement has not been stressed enough this offseason. Aside from fourth-year defensive tackle Travis Jones, Baltimore lacks quality players capable of playing nose tackle and two-gapping in the middle of the defensive line. Luckily for the Ravens, nose tackles are not too hard to find on the street. Just look back at Baltimore’s midseason signings of veteran Domata Peko Sr. and Justin Ellis in 2019. There are still capable options on the market for DeCosta to sign to help alleviate Jones’ workload. An undrafted rookie filling the need is a possibility as well.

Keeping Jones fresh to play more on passing downs will be vital to Baltimore’s interior pass rush. Pierce’s absence will also be felt in the pass rush, where he commanded double teams and freed up other players around him to win one-on-one reps. DeCosta has been a wizard when it comes to last-minute veteran signings that have made massive impacts, and he is sure to work his magic again before the start of the regular season.
