For the second consecutive season, the Washington Commanders will replace multiple starters on the offensive line. Last season, Washington featured new starters at both tackle positions and left guard, with right guard Brandon Scherff and center Chase Roullier the only holdovers.
In 2022, the Commanders will replace two starters — both guards — as Scherff signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency after seven seasons in Washington. Washington’s left guard last season, Ereck Flowers, was released in a salary-cap move.
The good news for the Commanders is offensive line coach John Matsko is back. Matsko is one of the best in the business and does an outstanding job developing young offensive linemen.
