We can officially turn the page on the 2022 NFL draft. The draft is over and most teams wrapped up their undrafted free-agent classes. The Washington Commanders drafted eight 13 players and signed 13 players.
Head coach Ron Rivera and general manager Martin Mayhew focused on experience in this draft. Every player with the exception of rookie QB Sam Howell, spent at least four seasons in college.
The Commanders have received high marks from most, but not everyone loved their draft. Some believed Washington should have remained at No. 11 and selected Chris Olave and Jameson Williams. Instead, the Commanders moved back five spots and added two mid-round picks in a draft full of depth. Washington chose Penn State WR Jahan Dotson, who it ranked among the top receivers on the board.
