We are less than one week away from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell taking the stage in Detroit to kick off the 2024 NFL draft. Thursday can’t come soon enough for NFL teams and fans.
For fans of the Washington Commanders, it’s been a fun but hectic few months. Washington has a new GM (Adam Peters) and head coach (Dan Quinn), and over 20 new players signed in free agency. Next, the Commanders will head into the NFL draft with nine selections. The fun begins at No. 2 overall, where Washington is expected to take a quarterback. But which one?
In February, everyone believed it would be North Carolina’s Drake Maye. In March, it was LSU’s Jayden Daniels. Last week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter joked that fans could go ahead and get their Daniels jerseys, leading to a big shift toward Daniels. Things shifted again this week when Daniels’ agent liked a pair of tweets criticizing Washington’s process of scheduling four quarterbacks — including Daniels — on top-30 visits.
The truth is that Peters has done an excellent job of keeping everyone guessing.
So, in our latest mock draft, who do we have going No. 2 to the Commanders? And how many quarterbacks will land in the first round?
Let’s find out.
