Day one of the NFL combine featured quarterbacks and wide receivers. While the quarterbacks showed off their arms, the receivers stole the show, with several pass-catchers recording blazing 40-yard dash times.
Offensive linemen and running backs took the field on day two of the combine. The on-field drills for offensive linemen sometimes feel pointless. Why do we need to see 6-foot-8, 320-pound offensive tackles run the 40-yard dash?
But there are important drills for linemen, such as the three-cone drill, which measures agility and change of direction.
As for the running backs, teams still like to see the 40-yard dash and other athletic drills, such as the vertical and broad jumps. For evaluators, it’s about seeing if a player’s testing numbers match their on-field results.
Here are six players who had big days Friday at the combine.
