Now that the Washington Commanders have found their quarterback for the 2022 season, it’s time to turn to free agency and address some other areas of concern.
One such area is at linebacker. It’s troubling that Washington has a hole at linebacker, considering the team spent a first-round pick on Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis in 2021. Davis played in 16 games as a rookie, participating in only 56% of the defensive snaps. Washington drafted Davis to play inside, but it didn’t take coaches long to realize he was better outside.
Cole Holcomb also returns, and his best position is also outside. That leaves Washington desperately needing a Mike linebacker. Fortunately for the Commanders, several players in free agency would represent an upgrade.
