Tommy White is having a run for the ages.
The 6’2″, 242-pound first baseman has begun his collegiate career in remarkable fashion. On Saturday, White went yard in each game of NC State’s doubleheader against Quinnipiac.
He now has nine home runs in eight games.

In those eight games, the freshman is hitting .588 (20-of-34) with 29 RBI and an unfathomable 2.062 OPS. “Tommy Tanks” has fueled the Wolfpack to an 8-0 start.
Before adding two more long balls to his tally, White discussed his extraordinary power tear with MLB.com’s Nick Trujillo.
“I’ve never experienced a hot streak like this,” White said after crushing two homers Friday night. “I think I had maybe five home runs in high school my senior year, so it’s pretty cool to go on this streak. “I’m not really focused on how many I hit, just focused on hard contact, focusing on the game and the wins.”
