It’s very possible this could be Aaron Rodgers’ final season with the Green Bay Packers. And yet, the three-time MVP won’t allow that possibility affect his mindset heading into Week 1.
Despite all the uncertainty surrounding his future, Rodgers told reporters that he’s solely focused on the present. He did admit that things do feel a little different this season, though.
“It definitely does feel different,” Rodgers said, via Sports Illustrated. “There is a lot of unknowns. So, the right perspective is needed, I think, from all of us. But I think we don’t feel pressure. I’m speaking personally and I can’t speak for everybody. But the feel that I get with the energy in the locker room is not pressure. It’s focus. I think it’s the right perspective and the right type of focus. We know we have a talented team, we know what the expectations are.”
At the end of the day, Rodgers would love to add another Super Bowl ring to his résumé. That would only strengthen his argument as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
Rodgers’ pursuit of another ring, however, will not stop him from enjoying the journey with his teammates. In fact, he plans on having fun with his teammates in Green Bay this fall.
“We’re going to enjoy this year for all that it has to offer, and each other,” Rodgers said, “And I think that’s the right perspective to have when you get in this situation.”
“The feel that I get with the energy in the locker room is not pressure. It’s focus.”

The Packers will start their season on the road against the Saints. That matchup will take place in Jacksonville due to the impact Hurricane Ida had on the Gulf Coast region.
Rodgers picked apart the Saints’ secondary during their showdown last season. We’ll find out on Sunday if he can do it once again.
