Raheem Mostert’s 2021 season was cut short due to a knee cartilage injury. Thankfully, the latest update on the veteran running back is encouraging.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter spoke to Mostert’s agent, Brett Tessler, about this specific injury. It appears the latest tests show that Mostert is making a full recovery.
In fact, Mostert is apparently making the best recovery that his doctor has ever seen.
“Dr. Cooper said that in six years of doing this procedure on NFL players, this is the best recovery he’s seen and there’s no reason to believe Raheem won’t be fully healthy and ready to go,” Tessler said.
The timing of this update is ideal for Mostert. With free agency set to begin next week, he should be able to land a new contract.

When healthy, Mostert is a productive back. During the 2019 season, he had 772 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
Earlier this offseason, 49ers reporter Jennifer Lee Chan said the team has been “in touch” with Mostert regarding a new contract.
The 49ers love to load up their backfield with versatile running backs, and re-signing Mostert would certainly make sense for both sides.
