When the NFL Draft commences on April 28, Evan Neal has a chance to join Jake Long and Eric Fisher as the third offensive lineman in the last 25 years to get selected with the first overall pick.
The Alabama tackle could be the unsung hero who fortifies an offense for the next decade, just like another all-time great Neal shouted out as his favorite player.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, a slimmed-down Neal said his favorite player is Larry Allen.

Allen spent most of his 14-year career with the Dallas Cowboys, where he earned seven consecutive First-Team All-Pro nods and earned a Super Bowl ring. He cleared the way for NFL all-time rushing leader Emmitt Smith, who scored 46 rushing touchdowns in Allen’s first two seasons.
The 11-time Pro Bowler started 197 games before getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
Allen is a great player for Neal to emulate. Listed at 6’3″ and 325 pounds during his playing career, he overpowered adversaries while brandishing tremendous athleticism in the trenches.
Neal, who has cut his weight to 337 pounds, has far more muscle and less body fat than most men his size.

One thing is for certain: Neal will get drafted way earlier than Allen, who lasted to the 46th pick in 1994.
