There was controversy between Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch following last weekend’s Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas.
Busch was leading the NASCAR Cup series race on Sunday with six laps to go when a wreck behind him brought out the yellow flag. Bowman wound up winning the race in overtime.
After the event, Busch could be heard complaining profanely about Bowman on his in-car audio.
“The same f——g guy who backs into every f——g win that he ever f——g gets backs into another f——g win. B——-t!” Busch said.
Despite the anger from Busch, Bowman said the two spoke via phone the following day and squared everything up.
“Everything’s good, everything’s fine,” Bowman told NASCAR.com “He was just mad to lose the race. I totally understand that. I didn’t do anything to him besides take the race away. I don’t think there’s an issue between him and I.”
Bowman also discussed his relationship with Busch during an appearance on Sirius XM on Wednesday.
“Kyle and I have always raced each other with respect,” Bowman said, via FOX News.
“Obviously, Kyle’s really passionate. We’ve seen that from him for a long time, and I was in the fire on that one, but he basically just said he was mad about losing the race and didn’t mean to be so disrespectful to me.”
Fresh off clearing the air, Bowman and Busch will both race in the Ruoff Mortgage 500 in Phoenix today.
