All-Pro Receptions Leader Will Be Put on Trade Block – Ravens, Chargers Among Top 5 Fits

February 5, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

cooper kupp trade

All-Pro receptions leader Cooper Kupp will be available for a trade this offseason after announcing on his social media he will be in a new uniform. According to reports, the wide receiver is the first man in the entire league this year to officially announce the Rams are officially putting him on the trade block. Originally selected in the third round in the 2017 NFL Draft, the wide receiver is arguably one of the best pass catchers despite his production has been slowing down in recent memory. The emergence of Puka Nacua and wanting to trade Kupp before the NFL Trade Deadline didn’t help his chances of staying on the team.

However, the good news is the wideout will have a strong market this offseason. Despite recording 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns in his 2024 campaign, it’s clear he still has a lot to give for a team. The Rams probably would have kept Kupp if it weren’t for the injuries, but since having his best season in 2021, recording a triple-crown campaign, the career is far from over for him. It shouldn’t be a surprise if cashes in a long-term deal for a lot of money that most fit could have, so here are the best fits for him.

I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA.

Next Possible Teams

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens haven’t had any luck in finding the next pass catcher to help Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman as the third man. However, after the failing Diontae Johnson experiment, the Ravens will need to trade for a big-time receiver. If anyone could revitalize the passing game for Lamar Jackson, it’s Cooper Kupp. He has the versatility and speed that could replicate the success he wants in a new receiver. Since Nelson Agholor will hit the market, it makes sense to trade for Kupp to have a three-solid set of wideouts while they keep developing DeVontez Walker as their fourth.

Los Angeles Chargers

The season for the Chargers came as a disappointment with no surprise since quarterback Justin Herbert didn’t have the right supporting cast to go further in the postseason. However, they have the cap space to make a big move, so head coach Jim Harbaugh has no excuse to do Herbert a disservice again next season. Ladd McConkey might be the next best target for Herbert but a man like Kupp could be a solid duo for him to create separation in the slant route. With that, the Chargers should consider trading Quentin Johnston after an underwhelming year and let Joshua Palmer walk to a new team.

Carolina Panthers

Since Dave Canales has trust in Bryce Young as their main slinger, the team should replicate the words to action and get a legitimate target for the offense. Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker are two fine pass-catching options but they lack experience. Perhaps, if the Rams are desperate enough, they could find a way to trade Kupp to Carolina and become the main No. 1 receiver.

New Orleans Saints

For the Saints, it might be difficult considering their cap space but General Manager Mickey Loomis might find a way to make it work. There’s no word on what they do with Chris Olave but the team still has Rashid Shaheed and a journeyman Marquez Valdes-Scantling. These receivers no matter who the quarterback will be can’t finish the job. Cooper Kupp is still a main starter in the league and would become the spotlight of this offense.

Washington Commanders

Washington will probably gamble the offseason again after getting several key players that have been helping change the organization around. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is in good arms with wide receiver Terry McLaurin but they need a big-time wideout to help him. Perhaps Cooper Kupp could be the last piece of the puzzle to be the lightning in a bottle to finally take the Commanders to a Super Bowl.
